Bitahai Lake

Bitahai Lake, with altitude of 3,539 meters, is located 25 kilometers east of Zhongdian and surrounded by dense oak trees. In the sixth month of the year, the azalea is in blossom. The fallen flowers afloat on the water, while the fish swallow them, they would get "drunk" and float on the surface of the lake. The reason is the fallen flowers with a bit of poison cause fish to appear "drunk".

Gadan Songzanlin Monastery

It's also called Guihua Monastery. The monastery, dating back to the 17 century, is 5 kilometers of Zhongdian and one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan. The monastery was made after the Potala Palace in Tibet, hence it has another name "Small Potala Palace". There are 200 buddhist monks in the monastery.

Napahai Lake

Napahai Lake, with altitude of 3,266meters, lies 8 kilometers northwest of Zhongdian and is a seasonal lake. In the summer, the water from mountains flows into the lake, so the lake is formed. In the autumn, the water receeds,the lake turns into a meadow. In the winter, it's a "Shangri-la" of many kinds of birds, such as black-necked cranes etc.

Shuduhu Lake

Shuduhu Lake, with altitude of 3,705 meters, lies 35 kilometers northeast of Zhongdian. The meadow around the lake is very good for pasture. The view is a bit more pretty than Bitahai lake. You don't have to walk long here, so sightseeing is more easier than in Bitahai Lake.

The Baishuitai Terrace

The Baishuitai Terrace lies 101 kilometers southeast of Zhongdian, with altitude of 2,380 meters. It's one of the largest tosca terraces in China.
The Baishuitai Terrace is known as the birthplace of Dongba culture of Naxi Nationality as a Buddhist as well as a Buddhist Holy Land where Dongbaists of the Naxi ethnic group go on a pilgrimage.

The Tianshen Bridge and Xiagei Hot spring

The Tianshen Bridge is in the 10 kilometers east of Zhongdian. There is a stone bridge formed naturally connecting both banks of Shudugang river.
Xiagei Hot Spring lies 5 kilometers of Tianshen Bridge. Both Tianshen Bridge and Xiagei have been boasting their rich resources of hot spring.
