 Yellow Crane Tower

Yellow Crane Tower is a famous historic tower at the bank of Yangtze River in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province. The tower has been the inspiration of many poets. It was originally built 200 AD at a place called Yellow Crane Rock projecting over the water; hence the name. Acclaimed as an ancient historic site and scenic wonder, it is one of the three most famous towers south of the Yangtze River. Destroyed many times by fire. The modern version was built in 1984, and is a symbol of Wuhan city. Covered with yellow glazed titles and supported with 72 huge pillars, it has 60 upturned and layered eaves. With its antique interior, the tower is also equipped with an elevator and air-conditioning. Vistors can climb the tower to see the splendid view of great Yangtze River and the panorama of the Wuhan city.
