lijiang old town

The Old Town of Lijiang, or the Lijiang Ancient City, which is perfectly adapted to the uneven topography of this key commercial and strategic site, has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang also possesses an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that still functions effectively today.




Yufeng monstery

Yufeng monstery ,with its Ten-thousand-flower camellia which reportedly was planted during the period of the Ming Dynasty(1645-1487), is at the south of Yulongxue Shan. The monastery was built in 17th century. It is a lamasery.







Baisha Wall Painting

At the north of ancient town of Lijiang is Baisha village with the Dabaoji Palace which was built in15th century. The wall painting which was drawn in 15th century are housed in this palace. They have incorporated the themes of Buddhism, Daoism and Lamaism. This is unique in creation.






Shuhe village

She lies at the north of ancient town of Lijiang. Shuhe village is a reproduction of Lijiang ancient town, but she appears more simple and quite.







Yulongxueshan

15 km away, at the north of Lijiang ancient town is Yulongxushan with 13 peaks of 5596 meters. She is a treasure of wild plants and rare animal and looks like a silver dragon lying in the clouds.

Awesome and unconquered, she dominates the Lijiang plain here in the north of China's southwestern province of Yunnan.

She is one of Yunnan's protected nature reserves for making scientific investigations, collecting animal and plant specimens, taking photos.



Yunshan meadow

hidden in side of yunlongxueshan, the Yunshan meadow with the level of 3240 meters is surrounded by fir trees. You may reach there by cable.








The Tiger-Leaping Gorge

At the north of Dayan is Yuquan park in which Museum of Dongba Culture lies. More than 1.000 years ago Naxi's ancestors created mysterious pictographs wherein they recorded their religious scriptures that became the people¡¯s ancient encyclopedia and are now an important ,source of history, language, and social and religious customs of the tribe.

The Dongba culture chiefly consists of scriptures, painting, music, dance, ritual implements and religious service.

Museum of Dongba Culture

She, one of the deepest, longest and narrowest gorge in the world, is 96 kilometers northwest of Dayan and overlooking the roaring Yangtze River.

According to local legend, The gorge acquired its name because at its narrowest point, a mere 28 meters wide, a tiger leaped over its swirling waters.
