Mt. Huangshan ( aroud Hangzhou)
Mt. Huangshan is located within the boundaries of Huangshan Mountain municipality in the south of Anhui Province. It was formed as a result of the movement of the earth's crust a hundred million years ago. The scenic reserve stretches 40 kilometers from north to south and 30 kilometers from east to west and takes up an area of 1,200 square kilometers. The renowned Four Wonders of the Huangshan Mountain are the spectacular peaks, odd-shaped pines, hot springs and seas of cloud. It is named the "fairyland on earth" for the diversity of sceneries in the four seasons. In spring, blooming flowers decorate the slopes in a riot of color and fill the valleys with fragrance; in summer, you see verdurous peaks rising one upon another and hear springs gurgling merrily. Autumn dresses the peaks in red and purple, as maples are all blazing-red; winter turns them into a world of frost and ice with silver boughs and rocks everywhere.

Huangshan Mountain is a natural zoo and botanical garden supporting 1,452 varieties of plants and 552 types of animals. Forest coverage is as high as 56 percent.

The long history and rich culture of the mountain can be seen in the 200 surviving temples, pavilions, pagodas, zig-zag passages, ancient bridges and stone sculptures.

In 1985, the mountain was made one of China's Top Ten Scenic Spots. In 1990, it was listed as one of World Cultural and Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO. This park is famous for its water that will not overflow from a full cup even if you add coins to it. The high surface tension will also support a carefully placed Chinese coin.
