Datong- City, northern China, in Shanxi Province, a major coal mining and rail center, near the Great Wall. The city was twice a dynastic Capital, under the North Wei (AD 386- 534), and Liao (AD 907-1125), both minorities' Kingdaom. Yungang Grottos was listed in World Cultural Heritage Sites in 2000. Huayang Temple has a wonderful collection of Buddha sculptures.
